Anywhere—A Travel Guide

This is an interesting travel guide, created by Magda Lipka Falck, a Master degree student from Konstfack in Stockholm.

First, I was quite skeptical about the idea, judging from it title - Anywhere—A Travel Guide. How can a travel guide suits anywhere? OK, here is the few of the pages.

The card asks you to interact with other people: "Ask someone to change something with you. It could be a T-shirt for chewinggum, a necklace for a pair of shoes, lunch for a song."

It points you the direction: "Follow the map"

It also encourages you to get in touch with people you know: "Find a place that you like, then call someone you miss and describe it."

So this guide as explained by the artist is situated between the space and our mind. "A travel guide that will hopefully lead you to places you have never seen before – though you may visit them every day. A place you have forgotten, a place you have never searched for or a place that does not exist."

A very sweet travel guide. Maybe it will take us somewhere we missed or somewhere we have never visited. For some reason, this art piece also reminds me of one of Yoko Ono's project: Wishing Tree, viewers are encouraged to write their wishes on the small cards and hang them on the tree.
