Turner Prize 2006 Shortlist
Turner Prize, established in 1984, is awarded to a British artist under 50 for an outstanding exhibition or other presentation of their work in the twelve months preceding 9 May 2006.
Tate just announced the four artists who have been shortlisted for 2006 Turner Prize:
Tomma Abts
Phil Collins
Mark Titchner
Rebecca Warren
With the support of Gordon's gin this year's prize fund is £40,000 with £25,000 going to the winner and £5,000 each for the other shortlisted artists. Works will be shown in an exhibition at Tate Britain beginning on 3 October 2006. The winner will be announced at Tate Britain on 4 December during a live broadcast by Channel 4.
